Drivers on the A1 northbound were subjected to delays this morning after a lorry caught fire near to Ayton.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 7am.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters and there were no casualties.

Crews from two fire appliances left the scene shortly after 9am.
Traffic was built back but is now flowing freely.
Police say that arrangements are in hand to recover the vehicle.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.17am on Thursday, 27 April to reports of a HGV on fire on the A1 Northbound, near Ayton.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene where firefightersextinguished the fire.
"There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 9.11am after ensuring the area was safe.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.45am on Thursday, 27 April, police were called to assist Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with an HGV fire on A1 at Houndwood.
Officers attended and the vehicle will be recovered."
