THE A7 between Selkirk and Galashiels has now reopened after three hours, following a vehicle fire.
The portion of the road near Glenmayne was shut this afternoon at around 2.30pm.
There were no casualties and two Scottish Fire and Rescue appliances attended, as well as police officers who assisted with traffic management.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.25pm on Monday, December 4 to reports of a vehicle fire on the A7, near the village of Boleside, Scottish Borders.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the area, where firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and make the area safe before leaving the scene.
"There were no casualties."
