POLICE are treating the death of a 37-year-old man, whose body was discovered near Carfraemill, Oxton yesterday (Tuesday), as ‘unexplained’.
An investigation has been launched but it is believed at this stage there are no suspicious circumstances.
His body was found on an area of exposed moorland yesterday afternoon and the emergency services alerted members of Borders Search and Rescue Unit, who assisted police, with the recovery of the body from steep ground.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries into the full circumstances surrounding his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, are ongoing." Borders Search and Rescue Unit added: "Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased."
