BARBER. - Peacefully at the Margaret Kerr Unit, Borders General Hospital, on Monday, 18th March, 2013, Dr. Isobel (Quita) Blanche Armitage Barber (née Shivas), aged 87 years (Olympic Sprinter 1952), of Newstead, Melrose formerly Aberdeen, much loved wife of Stuart, loving mother of Judith and mother-in-law of Alan. Funeral service at Melrose Parish Church, on Tuesday, 26th March, at 12.15 pm, followed by cremation at Borders Crematorium at 1.00 pm, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations for charities in memory of Quita will be received on retiring from service or may be sent to Thomas Brown & Sons, Funeral Directors, East Port, Melrose.
