POLICE are trying to establish the identity of a man found dead in Tweedbank yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Officers were called to an address at Broadlee Bank, just off Honeylees Drive, at around 1.30pm.
They discovered the man's body within a flat.
A Police Scotland spokesman told the Border Telegraph: "Police in the Scottish Borders responded to an address in Broadlee Bank, Galashiels at around 1.30pm on Thursday, February 18 where the body of a man was found within."
Forensic officers remained at the scene throughout yesterday evening.
And the area around the flat was cordoned off.
As of this morning, investigating officers are still trying to establish the man's identity.
The spokesman added: "Inquiries are ongoing to identify the man and establish the full circumstances surrounding his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained."
It is understood the man's death is being treated as 'unexplained'.
