A COMMUNITY Christmas tree has been targeted in Newtown St Boswells.
The tree which stands outside Scottish Borders Council headquarters had its lights damaged and its star stolen during the incident, which is believed to have happened in the early hours of Saturday, December 3.
A Police Spokesman said: "Anyone who may have seen any suspicious vehicles or persons at the time or who has information relating to this crime is urged to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 2900 of 03/12/16.
"Alternatively you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
