THE nominations for the local government elections on May 4 have been announced.
Scottish Borders Council have today published a list of 75 candidates standing across the 11 wards in the region.
And the local authority is telling Borderers to make sure they are registered to vote, as the April 17 deadline looms.
Brian Rout, Acting Electoral Registration Officer for SBC said: "Time is running out to make sure you can take part in the elections, so I’d encourage everyone in the Borders to take action now if they’re not already registered to vote. It’s quick and easy to register, but after the deadline of 17 April, it will be too late."
To register to vote, visit http://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
