IN a touching tribute to Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, who died earlier this year, The Charlatans invited Scott’s brother and fellow bandmate Grant along with the band’s keyboard player Billy Kennedy on stage at Belladrum Festival for a rousing version of the bands track 'Head Rolls Off'.
Billy and Grant, who are both from Selkirk, spent the afternoon rehearsing in a make shift practice room on the festival's farm with The Charlatans before delivering the stand out moment of the day.
Frightened Rabbit have always been firm favourites at Belladrum and had a special place in the hearts of festival goers.
The band had previously appeared at Belladrum in 2008, 2012 and 2014, with Scott also making a now legendary impromptu solo acoustic performance in the Tomatin Whisky Bothy at the 2012 event.
They were set to headline the second stage at this years’ event and as a tribute Belladrum performed a video tribute playing their seminal album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’ in this slot with a collection for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health).
"We have grown with Belladrum, we started off in a small tent here and then we have gone up and up every time.
"It’s down to Belladrum giving us the chance to do that and the chance to say yeah we are a main stage act," said Scott at Belladrum 2014.
Following Friday evening's performance by The Charlatans, along with Billy and Grant, Festival organiser Joe Gibbs told us: "It felt really special to hear a Frightened Rabbit song being played on the main stage this year.
"The band have always said Bella had a special place in their hearts and likewise we have felt the same about Frightened Rabbit."
