TRAVELODGE wants to open a hotel in Galashiels.
The chain, is looking to boost its current portfolio to by adding 21 new hotels across Scotland.
And it wants to build a £6 million budget hotel in the Borders, creating 15 jobs.
The firm has expressed interest in the region previously.
And Galashiels has been mentioned again by bosses in their latest expansion plans.
Pascal Bamford, from Travelodge said: “Despite the current economic market we are expanding our network of hotels across Scotland and were delighted to open our 45th Scottish Travelodge in Glasgow by the famous Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"Scotland is growing from strength to strength and is a top Staycation destination therefore to meet growing demand post Brexit we are looking for a further 21 hotel sites across the country which includes Galashiels.
"Collectively this expansion programme represents an investment of £125 million for third party investors and job creation of 380.
"Galashiels, right in the heart of the Scottish Borders with its beautiful countryside has been selected as one of our key locations.
"We are actively looking for the ideal site to open the town’s first branded budget hotel.
"This will represent an investment of £6 million and a job creation of 15.
"It’s also great news for the local economy as Travelodge customers spend double their room rate with local businesses during their stay which equates to a multi-million spend annually."
