ROADWORKS on the Leaderfoot Bridge between Melrose and Earlston have been removed two weeks ahead of schedule.
The traffic management was due to last for three weeks but was removed after just 4 days on Thursday, April 12.
The work was being conducted as part of the final stages of construction of a £4 million pipeline designed to provide the local area with a more resilient water network.
The new 7km pipe will carry nearly a million litres of clear, fresh drinking water each day.
Scott Fraser, Scottish Water’s Corporate Affairs Regional Manager, said: “The team has worked incredibly hard to get the traffic management element of these works completed as quickly as possible.
“This pipeline will ensure that customers can continue to enjoy a reliable supply of fresh water long into the future.”
