HOT off the back of their five-week Australian tour, Mànran are returning to Galashiels once again.

The Scots Traditional-Rock band are set to play the Volunteer Hall at the end of the month.

With three award-winning studio albums under their belt, and another in the pipeline the band knows how to hit the right note.

Mànran enjoyed a hugely successful 2018, beginning with a sold-out performance at Celtic Connections that was live streamed to a worldwide audience of 125,000 people.

That was followed by a sold-out tour of France and Germany alongside a host of festivals throughout Europe across the summer months.

The group’s accordion player and founding member, Gary Innes, also presents BBC Radio Scotland’s longest-running radio show Take The Floor.

He said: “We’re really looking forward to playing Galashiels again, the audiences always blow us away.

“It’s been an amazing couple of years for the band and we’re really looking forward to celebrating our 10th year in the business in 2020.

“Watch out for lots of exciting announcements coming soon as we plan the celebrations.

“And we can’t wait to see fans old and new at the Volunteer Hall on Friday, May 31.”

Last year, the six-piece toured extensively across Scotland with a Christmas tour in the Highlands and Central belt of Scotland.

And they played a headline gig at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom which was filmed by BBC Alba and broadcast on Hogmanay.

Mànran’s promoter added: “Coupled with songs in both Gaelic and English that undergo the same musical mixology, it’s easy to understand why Mànran are in such high demand as a live act.

“With music ranging from the explosive to the poignant and, at all times, a palpable connection to their audience, Mànran thrive on live performances and spend most of the year touring and bringing their music to new parts of the world.

“So far, this has taken the band all over Europe, the USA and Asia as well as Australia, where the band was awarded the accolade International Artist of the Year at the Australian Celtic Music Awards.”

Mànran will play at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels on Friday May 31.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £20.
