A WESTRUTHER man has admitted a VAT fraud involving £25,000.
Mark Watson pleaded guilty to being involved in the fraudulent evasion of VAT amounting to £25,000 at his home at The Post House between June 2013 and September 2016.
The 51-year-old submitted false VAT returns in order to claim VAT repayments to which he was not entitled.
Sentence was deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court until September 9 to allow Watson - who had been trying to set up a photography business - to provide information on how he is going to pay back the money.
