A TEENAGE entrepreneur has big plans for the Borders after launching her beauty studio last month.
Holly Wyatt, 19, from Morebattle, opened Doll Kulture in Kelso on September 1.
But she is already looking at ways to expand in a few years’ time.
"I want to set up a training academy," Miss Wyatt said.
"I also want to renovate the basement to make it a photo studio where we can have photoshoots.
"There's not a lot of [training] opportunities in the Borders."
At the moment Miss Wyatt can only offer a limited range of treatments. However, she says if she can make it through this “big test”, her business will thrive.
When she took over the premises at 43 Roxburgh Street, it was not living up to what she had imagined her studio to be.
"It had completely different decor to now – it had peach walls and carpet," Miss Wyatt said.
"The building had been an office, then a hat shop.
"The landlord wanted me to have the opportunity to see through my vision.

"We did all the work ourselves.
"We spent the whole of August working – giving it my personality.
"It really has a city feel to it.
"Clients say they don't expect Kelso to have somewhere like that."
Although at the moment she is limited to brow treatments and eye makeup only, Miss Wyatt told this newspaper that her favourite work to do is when she can be creative.
She said: "I'm very versatile – I can do natural bridal makeup, smokey makeup or a character.
"My favourite is creative makeup.
"Seeing the body used as a canvas inspires me."
