CYCLISTS have been captured on CCTV urinating in a Borders car park.
At a meeting of Innerleithen Community Council this month, members heard that bikers were answering nature’s call behind the Co-op shop.
Tweeddale councillor Robin Tatler said a number of issues had been raised to him by members of the public and staff at the local store, adding that he is reporting them to the police Community Action Team.
Mr Tatler said: “Unfortunately mountain bikers are causing all sorts of issues at the Co-op car park.
"They are urinating and been captured on CCTV doing it. There have also been reports of general anti-social behaviour.”
Councillor Stuart Bell asked if the public toilets on Hall Street had been reopened and suggested this would help solve the problem.
The following day, community councillor Jackie Couchman investigated and found the toilets were an “open-and-shut case” – although there was nothing straightforward about it, with one door marked shut which was actually open.
