SCOTTISH Borders Council is advertising for a new chief executive, with the successful applicant set to earn a yearly salary of between £128,405 - £131,156.
SBC is looking to replace former chief executive Tracey Logan, who retired at the end of September.
In the job advert, the council states it is looking for someone “who can confidently lead the strategic direction, corporate planning & budgetary processes” as well as “secure & improve the economic social, equality & environmental wellbeing of the Scottish Borders”.
The successful applicant will also “lead on and have responsibility for best value, financial viability and statutory reporting”.
The advert was opened on October 22, with a deadline for applications set for November 8.
Regarding the search for a chief executive, a spokesperson for SBC said: "We are currently inviting applications for the post of chief executive, with a deadline of 8 November.

“We would encourage anyone who is interested in the position, and believes they have the right attributes to lead Scottish Borders Council, to apply or get in touch for more information."
When Ms Logan (pictured above) announced her retirement, she said: "Being chief executive has been an enormous privilege and I will miss working with the outstanding and dedicated council staff we have in the Scottish Borders."
