GALASHIELS is no longer the happiest place to live in Scotland, according to a property website.
Last year, the Borders town was crowned top of Rightmove’s ‘happy at home index’ for the nation.
However, Galashiels has now dropped out of the top five happiest places in Scotland.
The top five for 2020 is made up of: Perth (1); Inverness (2); Dumfries (3); Dundee (4); and Paisley (5).

The rankings are based on 10 factors, ranging from how safe residents feel and how friendly the neighbours are, to the green spaces available in the area.
In the UK, St Ives has been named the happiest place to live, with the Cornwall town described as an “idyllic coastal" hotspot.
