A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for parts of the Borders this week as snow is predicted.
According to the Met Office's impact matrix, this warning has a medium likelihood and low impact.
The snowy weather is tipped to begin in Peeblesshire tomorrow evening (Wednesday) and end on Thursday afternoon.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Frequent showers will increasingly turn to snow Wednesday night and persist into Thursday morning though these are likely to fall as sleet and hail at times, mainly around coasts.
"Larger accumulations are expected at higher elevations with 2-5cm above 200m and up to 10cm over some of the highest routes.
"Whilst the Southern Uplands is likely to see some snow over higher ground the likelihood is that only very small accumulations are expected here below 200m."
Areas likely to see snow include Peebles, Innerleithen, West Linton, and Biggar.
The Met Office website warns about the risk of "some travel disruption".
Under its 'what to expect' section, the website also warns about the risk of "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces".
