A MOTORIST has been charged after he was allegedly caught driving while nearly six times over the legal alcohol limit in the Borders.
The 44-year-old was charged by officers in Hawick on Sunday.
The drink-drive limit in Scotland is 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
In a statement on social media, police wrote: "On Sunday 6th December 2020, officers in Hawick charged a 44-year-old male with being nearly 6 times the drink drive limit."
