THE number of people in the Borders in hospital with coronavirus has doubled during the last 24 hours.
There are now 12 people in hospital with recently confirmed cases of COVID-19, up from six yesterday (Tuesday, December 8).
The Borders has also recorded 15 further positive cases of the virus during that period.
Updated figures were published by the Scottish Government at 2pm today (December 9).
The total number of coronavirus cases in the region now stands at 1,056.
