A NATIONAL newspaper has mentioned Galashiels in a round-up of places to visit in 2021.
The Jewish Chronicle, which describes itself as "the world's oldest and most influential Jewish newspaper", has published a travel article titled ‘The best of the UK for 2021’.
The piece names The Great Tapestry of Scotland Centre, soon to be opened in Galashiels, as one of the year’s new attractions.

The article, penned by Cathy Winston, states: “There’s a new home for the Great Tapestry of Scotland this year, as the Great Tapestry of Scotland Visitor Centre opens in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.
“The attraction tells the story of the country from 8500BCE to the present day, through one of the world’s largest tapestries, created by more than 1,000 people in communities across Scotland.
“Made up of 160 panels, it uses 300 miles of wool — enough to stretch from the tip of Shetland to the border with England.”
