THE Borders has recorded 49 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the region's total to more than 2,000 since the pandemic began.
The data was released by the Scottish Government at 2pm today (Wednesday, January 6).
In the Borders there are currently 38 people in hospital with confirmed or suspected coronavirus. The figure is one more than yesterday.
Since March 2020, the Borders has had 2,013 cases. The national total is 141,066.
Nationally there are currently 1,384 people in hospital with COVID-19.
