A BORDERS drug dealer has been jailed for 15 months.
Gavin Murray, 25, of Peebles, pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to being concerned in the supply of heroin at houses in George Terrace and Dalatho Crescent in Peebles between June 8 and November 13.
He also admitted possession of a lock knife in Whitehaugh Park in Peebles on June 8.
In June a warrant was executed and 12 wraps of diamorphine were found - valued between £200 and £250 - along with drug-dealing equipment such as mobile phones and also £100 in cash.
On November 13 another search was carried out at Murray's home in George Terrace at 8am, with drugs paraphernalia recovered.
Acting on intelligence received, a search of a friend's house in Dalatho Crescent led to the discovery of 60 individual bags of heroin weighing 63 grammes with a value of £3,000.
Defence lawyer Robert More said his client was "at the bottom of the food chain, so to speak" when it came to drug supplying "and was involved to fund his own habit”.
Murray was jailed for 452 days which was back-dated to November 16.
