A BORDERS man has been found guilty after a trial of stalking a woman.
James Melville, 39, of Branxholme Road, Hawick, had denied engaging in a course of conduct likely to cause fear and alarm.
But following a two-day trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court he was convicted of the offence.
Melville was fined £300 and ordered to pay £100 compensation to his victim. He was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
A three-year non-harassment order was imposed forbidding him from having any contact with the woman.
