A PERSON had to be removed from a vehicle in water following a crash in the Borders at the weekend, according to the fire and rescue service.
The collision took place close to Mount Pleasant crossroads, near Duns, on Sunday (February 28).
A crew from Berwick came to assist crews in the Borders with the rescue.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.01pm on Sunday, February 28 to reports of a road traffic collision near Mount Pleasant crossroads, Duns.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and two specialist water rescue teams.
“One casualty was removed from a vehicle in the water and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
The Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service described the rescue as "successful".
