TEMPORARY traffic lights are set to be in place for a fortnight on a major Borders road from the start of next week.
The lights will be on the A7 south of Galashiels, with one lane set to be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm each weekday from Monday (March 8).
According to BEAR Scotland, the temporary lights are part of an £80,000 road safety improvement scheme to replace existing safety barriers with a "new upgraded vehicle restraint system".
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s south east network manager, said: “Safety is a top priority for both Transport Scotland and BEAR Scotland and this scheme is part of that continued commitment.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible. Thanks in advance to motorists for their patience during these works.”
