A MAN has been charged in connection with an assault which led to a person being taken to the Borders General Hospital with a "serious leg injury".
Police say "an altercation took place" on the Black Path in Tweedbank Park on Saturday (March 13).
A police spokesperson said: "Officers in the Borders have charged a man in connection with an incident in Tweedbank which resulted in another man sustaining a serious leg injury.
"An altercation took place between two men on the Black Path in Tweedbank Park during the afternoon of Saturday, March 13.
"One man suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
"A 40-year-old has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court at a later date."
