A GALASHIELS charity has launched a campaign to encourage people to explore the town’s surrounding countryside.
The Energise Galashiels Trust has set up the initiative – called Love Galashiels, Explore Galashiels – to coincide with the scrapping of the ‘stay at home’ coronavirus law from April 2.
Debbie Paterson, a committee member at the trust, said: “We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world, but sometimes seeing it every day means we don’t fully appreciate what is on our doorstep.”
The campaign centres around walking and cycling trails, with the charity asking anyone with a “hidden gem” to email hello@galashielsheartland.org.uk
