A PEEBLESSHIRE woman says she has “big plans” after being named the vice-chairwoman of Young Farmers in the east region.
Jennifer Jones will sit on the 2021/22 east region committee of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) following her election.
Ms Jones will assist chairwoman Lucy Mitchell in leading the east region.

Ms Jones said: “I have really enjoyed being part of SAYFC at club and district level, and am delighted to be supporting Lucy at east region especially getting some physical events back running this year – we have some big plans.
“It is also good to be representing clubs south of the bridge, with Border Fed planning a farm safety campaign this summer.
“This is a cause important to everyone on the farm and would be great to see all clubs in the region making use of the farm safety training being offered by SAFYC and Yellow Wellies.”

Ms Jones works as a vet for ARMAC Vet Group covering South Lanarkshire and Peeblesshire.
The east region's Lothian & Peebles representatives for 2021/22 are: Alasdair Allan, Hamish Logan, Kirsty Barr and William Brown.
Meanwhile, the Border Federation representatives are: Will Wardrop, Stewart Shaw and Andrew Dixon.
