SCOTTISH Borders Council has issued an update on a school which closed following positive coronavirus tests.
St Peter’s Primary School, in Galashiels, shut today (Wednesday, June 9).
And now the council has announced the school will be open tomorrow (Thursday, June 10) for some pupils - but it will be closed for others.
A council spokesperson said: "Following on from our previous communications and as a result of discussions with NHS Test and Protect and NHS Borders’ Public Health team, the council has taken a decision that St Peter’s Primary School and nursery will open tomorrow (Thursday, June 10) for the following pupils and staff only, unless they are a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case:
- Early Learning and Childcare 3 and 4
- P1, P1/2, P2/3 and P3
“All pupils required to remain at home will be supported with home learning and support will be offered to any family in need, including free school meals which will be delivered to them at home.
“For the safety of those returning, the school has received a deep clean and been fully sanitised.
"Enhanced cleaning will continued to be carried out on a daily basis and all COVID-19 guidance adhered to.
“The situation will continue to be closely monitored and updates provided as required.”
