POLICE are appealing for witnesses after receiving reports of a fire in a Borders town.
According to officers, at around 10.45pm on Wednesday (July 28) police received a report of a fire to a wheelie bin in Dalatho Crescent, Peebles.
Fires like this have the potential to cause “significant damage”, say police.
A police spokesperson said: “If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time please contact us on 101 and quote incident number 3881 of July 28.
“Alternatively, if you have any information about this you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org”
