A NINE-YEAR-OLD child is among two people that have been taken to hospital after a crash in the Borders, say police.
Police were called at around 10.25am this morning (August 9) following the report of a one-vehicle crash on the A697 near Oxton.
The child and a 46-year-old man have been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, according to officers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 10.25am on Monday, August 9, 2021 following the report of a one-vehicle road crash on A697 near Oxton.
“Emergency services attended and a 9-year-old child and 46-year-old man have been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment of injuries.
“The road is currently closed in both directions.”
