A “YOUNG male” was assaulted by four men on the Black Path in Galashiels, according to police.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which reportedly took place just before 10pm on July 31.

One of the men is described as wearing dark blue jeans and distinctive footwear, and spoke with a croaky voice.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are particularly keen to speak with a couple who spoke with the victim around the Netherdale area of Galashiels to advise him of males hanging around the Black Path.
