A GALASHIELS man who was abusive towards social workers who visited his home to check on the welfare of children has been fined £170 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Twenty-five-year-old Kieran White pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at a house in Galashiels on April 22 last year.
A not guilty plea to possession of a class A drug was accepted by the Crown.
Defence lawyer Ross Dow said emotions were running high at the time.
Sheriff Kenneth Maciver warned White about his conduct towards professionals who were only doing their job but accepted he had been out of trouble for the past six years.
White was fined £170 with a Victim Surcharge imposed.
