THE Borders has recorded more coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, new data shows.
According to figures released at 2pm today (August 31) by the Scottish Government, the Borders has recorded 79 new cases of COVID-19 in a 24-hour period.
The total number of positive cases in the Borders since the start of the pandemic now stands at 5,752.

The region has also reported 23 people in hospital with confirmed coronavirus in this period – this marks an increase of five since yesterday.
Nationally there have been 430,525 positive cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
And across Scotland there are 585 people in hospital with confirmed coronavirus.
