THE Borders recorded one coronavirus-related death last week, new data shows.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update at 12pm on Wednesday, September 15, covering the week September 6-12.
And during that seven-day period, the Borders recorded one death where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate.
In the three weeks prior to September 6 the region had recorded a total of 14 deaths by this measure.
This takes the total number of deaths in the region to 68 this year and 172 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the NRS data, as at September 12 there have been a total of 10,688 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
