THE Borders recorded six coronavirus-related deaths last week, new data shows.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update at 12pm on Thursday, September 23, covering the week September 13-19.
In the week prior to September 13 the region had recorded one death where coronavirus was listed on the death certificate.
This takes the total number of deaths in the region to 74 this year and 178 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the NRS data, as at September 19 there have been a total of 10,826 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
