A BORDERS enterprise has received a top gong for its work in the region.
At a ceremony on September 2, You Can Cook – a community interest company which seeks to educate local communities on their food choices – was awarded Cooking Experience Provider of the Year at the Prestige Awards.
Founding director Bosco Santimano and director Emily Macinnes attended to collect the award in Edinburgh which was handed to them by Prestige Awards founder and CEO Osmaan Mahmood.
Mr Santimano said: “This is a major boost of confidence from an established UK Awards as it seems talent, perseverance and hard work does pay off sometimes.”

A panel of judges assessed nominees on service excellence, quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance.
Mr Santimano added: “Having survived the pandemic last year and also simultaneously launching a new interactive website in November 2020, this was the icing on the cake as our services are slowly being restored and we are looking to engage with our stakeholders once again on a face-to-face basis.
“We wish to take this opportunity to thank the judges of Prestige Awards for choosing us and also all our clients, staff, management committee past and present, for being part of You Can Cook’s amazing journey.”
