THE Borders recorded one coronavirus-related death last week, new data shows.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update Wednesday, October 6, covering the week September 27-October 3.
In the week prior to September 27 the region had recorded four deaths where coronavirus was listed on the death certificate.
This takes the total number of deaths in the region to 79 this year and 183 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the NRS data, as at October 3 there have been a total of 11,134 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
