MORE than £3,000 has been raised for the Friends of the Borders General Hospital (BGH) thanks to a charity golf day.
The golf day, held on October 9 at the SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course near Kelso, saw 14 teams compete and raise money for the 'Staff Well Being' initiative created by the Friends for BGH staff.
The initiative helps to provide staff with massages, subsidised gym membership and other services which could help them "feel better".
Before the day of golf started, chair of the Friends of the BGH James Marjoribanks, said: "We all know the staff at the BGH have had a hellish time and we are all here today to raise money for these things to try and make them feel a wee bit better.
"I am looking to raise over £3,000 in order to make this initiative for the staff worthwhile."
The event raised £3,353 for the organisation.
And the winners on the day were Broon's Badgers, who were also winners in 2019.
Mr Marjoribanks added his thanks to SCHLOSS Roxburghe and Bellhaven for their sponsorship and for people's generosity.
Donations can be made to the Friends of the BGH via their JustGiving page.
