THE Borders has been issued with a yellow weather warning for ‘heavy rain’.
The Met Office alert covers the period from 12am on Wednesday (October 27) through to 6am on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the forecasters said that transport will “probably” be impacted by the rainfall.

The spokesperson added: “Rain will become persistent and heavy at times on Wednesday across much of south-western Scotland and parts of the Borders.
"Whilst there still some uncertainty in the exact location of the heaviest rainfall, accumulations of 25 to 50mm are likely in the warning area, and perhaps 60 to 90mm over high ground.
"The rain will clear for a time on Wednesday evening and may return again early on Thursday morning but details are very uncertain."
The warning covers much of the central and western Borders.
