THE Borders recorded three coronavirus-related deaths last week, new data shows.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update on October 27, covering the week October 18-24.
In the week prior to October 18 the region had recorded two deaths where coronavirus was listed on the death certificate.
The total number of deaths in the region stands at 84 this year and 188 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the NRS data, as at October 24 there have been a total of 11,538 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

And in the last 24 hours the Borders has recorded 43 cases of coronavirus.
According to data released by the Scottish Government today (October 28) at 2pm, there are now 30 people in hospital who have tested positive for COVID-19.
This marks an increase of eight people in the last day.
The total number of positive cases in the region since the start of the pandemic now stands at 8,930.
Nationally there have been a total of 634,544 positive coronavirus cases since March last year.
