SOUTERS are once again invited to take part in an international Christmas event with other towns and cities named Selkirk.
Last year the town was invited to join the Holiday Alley festival held in the city of Selkirk in Manitoba, Canada, which was forced online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As part of the festival in 2020, Selkirk communities around the world were invited to film themselves singing and dancing to a version of the 12 Days of Christmas. However, this year those wanting to get involved will be singing and dancing along to Dance in the Street, Again – written by Selkirk, Manitoba, artist Brenton Thorvaldson and based on the original song Dancing In The Street by Martha and the Vandellas.
Organisers of Holiday Alley have also prepared choreography for Souters to follow or you can create your own moves.
All the submitted videos will then be edited together in the ‘Worldwide Dancing in the Street Video’ that will air on Holiday Alley web-TV on Tuesday, November 30. Anyone wishing to take part in this year’s video, should submit their contributions to the Holiday Alley team by November 17. Visit: forms.gle/NDf1zbEshVps1EMJ7
