TWO yellow weather warnings are in place for the Borders this week.
Warnings for heavy snow and strong winds are expected to hit the region tomorrow (Tuesday) from 9am until midnight.
According to the Met Office there is a chance of travel disruption and further power cuts.
A Met office spokesperson said: "A band of rain will turn to snow across Northern England and Scotland through Tuesday.
"2-5 cm is expected to accumulate quite widely across the area, but locally this could reach 10 cm, particularly in parts of the Southern Uplands and Highlands.
"Strong southeasterly winds will also lead to snow drifting in places, particularly over the highest routes, adding to poor visibilities.
"A deep area of low pressure moving in across the UK from the Atlantic is likely to bring high winds to many parts of the UK.
"Strong winds arriving into the west through the morning, spreading inland and reaching eastern areas through the afternoon and early evening.
"Gusts of 45-50 mph are expected widely, with 60-70 mph in exposed coastal locations.
"Strongest winds will ease across inland areas into the overnight period."
Areas which are covered by the snow warning include towns such as Selkirk, Galashiels and Peebles, whereas communities in eastern parts of the region such as Kelso and Eyemouth are only covered by the wind warning.
