THE Borders recorded more than 400 cases of coronavirus over the weekend, data shows.
According to figures released at 2pm today (January 10) by the Scottish Government, between Friday (January 7) and today, 413 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the region.
The total number of cases in the Borders now stands at 16,388.
Almost 2,000 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the region so far this year.

Public Health Scotland has advised that a large number of tests are being processed by labs which is causing a delay in turnaround for results – these delays could impact reported figures.
There are currently 44 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed COVID-19 – an increase of four since Friday.
On Saturday there were 46 people in hospital in the Borders.
The total number of cases in Scotland stands at 1,056,837 and there are 1,432 in hospital nationally.
