NOMINATIONS are now invited from members of the community for two community councils in the region.
Residents whose names appear on the current Electoral Register for the Earlston community council area and for the Newtown St Boswells and Eildon community council area can put their names forward for consideration.
Community councils are a way locals can play an important part for their community.

The closing date for nominations for both councils is 4pm on February 7.
Earlston community council has a maximum of 12 members, and Newtown St Boswells and Eildon has a maximum of 10. In the event of more nominations being received than places, a ballot will be held.
Nomination forms for the Earlston area can be obtained from:

· With a Cherry On Top, High Street, Earlston

And forms for the Newtown St Boswells and Eildon area can be obtained from:
