FOR the second year running, Galashiels Burns Club has cancelled its annual Burns Supper.
The supper was due to take place today (January 21) at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Due to the scale of the current COVID pandemic, the committee was left with no choice with the safety of members of paramount importance.
“However, there are plans to go ahead with the wreath laying ceremony on Saturday, January 22, at 11am to which all members are invited.”
Bruce Robertson, president of the club, will lay a wreath at the Burns statue on Lawyer’s Brae tomorrow.
The club’s annual general meeting will be held in the Royal British Legion Club in Park Street on Tuesday, April 12, at 7pm.
