Police in the Scottish Borders have issued an appeal for information following reports of vandalism in Selkirk.

Officers say that they have received reports of graffiti in the Back Row area of the town.

They believe that the incident took place during the early hours of Thursday 27 January 2022.

Officers now wish to speak to anyone who was in the area at that time who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

A Police Scotland statement on social media reads: “Were you in Back Row, Selkirk between 2am and 6am this morning (27th January 2022)?

“Police have received reports of graffiti in the area.

“Did you see or hear anything or anyone suspicious?

“If you did, we urge you to contact us on 101, using incident number 473 27th January 2022.

“Alternatively, If you have any information about this, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.”
