THE Borders has been issued with a snow and wind warning for Storm Eunice, predicted to hit later this week.
It is currently covering the period from 3am-6pm on Friday (February 18).
Storm Eunice could cause disruption due to heavy snow and some strong winds, according to a Met Office spokesperson.
The spokesperson added: “Snow, heavy in places, is likely to develop on the northern side of Storm Eunice as it moves across the UK on Friday.

“There is still uncertainty in the track of Storm Eunice and not all areas within the warning area are expected to see snow. However, some places may see around 5cm of snow at low levels away from coasts. Accumulations are expected to be significantly higher over hills though with 10-20cm perhaps up to 30cm possible above around 250 metres.
“Strong winds occurring at the same time may lead to very poor visibility, blizzard conditions and drifting of lying snow.”
Meanwhile, the amber Storm Dudley wind alert in place today has been moved forward.
The warning now comes into effect at 2pm, although the peak winds have reduced, according to the forecasters.
