ScotRail have announced ‘Minor Changes’ to the Borders Railway service this afternoon (Thursday February 24 2022) due to a train fault.
This will result in reduced carriages and the rail service suggest that passengers concerned about physical distancing may want to make alternative plans.
The main change is to the rush hour service which is scheduled to leave Tweedbank at 4.30pm arriving at Edinburgh Waverley at 5.28pm.
That train will be formed of three carriages instead of the normal six.
Other changes include the service leaving Tweedbank at 5.28pm which is scheduled to arrive at Edinburgh Waverley at 6.24pm and the returning service which is due to leave Edinburgh Waverley at 6.52pm and is scheduled to arrive at Tweedbank at 7.52pm.
Both of these trains will be formed of two carriages instead of the normal three.
A statement provided by ScotRail reads: “Sorry this train has fewer carriages than normal. Because of physical distancing, customers may want to plan to travel on an alternative service.”
