THE Borders has recorded 634 new cases of coronavirus in the last day, according to new figures.
Scottish Government data was published at 2pm today (March 10).
And the updated statistics show that the Borders has now recorded 24,613 cases of COVID-19 since March 2020.
This increase in cases is caused by the reporting of historic positive cases from Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests collected between January 6 and March 10.
There are 34 people in hospital in the region – three more than yesterday.
This is the highest number of hospital patients since February 8 when 33 people were reported in the hospital in the region.
Scotland has seen 1,561,034 cases since the start of the pandemic, according to the figures.
